Mini Haul!

I went shopping yesterday with my lovely fiance as we both had the day totally free. We didn't go out with the plan to buy well anything really. We actually only went into town to get a hot chocolate from Starbucks but we ended up getting a few things. I wanted to share what I got with you guys as a kind of mini haul post. I really enjoy reading these posts and watching videos of them on YouTube so I'm excited to do my first :)

Its not a lot and its only from two stores but here we go...

First we went to Superdrug! I had run out of my Nivea night cream the night before so thought I should get another while we were out. I tend to get dry skin, especially coming into Autumn/Winter. Most of the time my skin is more normal but this is my saviour for when it does get dry. It is the Nivea Rich Regenerating Night Cream for Dry and Sensitive skin, I also have the day wear one too. I LOVE these moisturisers, they completely clear any dry skin I have and it lasts. Other moisturisers I have tried for dry skin look ok in the morning but by midday I have dry patches on my cheeks. Like I said my skin is more normal combination most of the time so I don't have to use these every day but I find that mixing them into my routine every other day and night in place of my normal moisturiser works wonderfully. The price is also amazing! They are around £4 depending on where you buy them but just now in Superdrug they are all half price so it was only £1.99!! Such a bargain for such an amazing moisturiser. If you have very dry skin or your just get the odd dry patch occasionally I would recommend this product, it has worked so well for me.

The other thing was the new Limited Edition Vaseline !!!

It is the first Limited Edition Vaseline I have every tried. I know they did a creme brulee one before but I'm not sure if they have done others?! Anyway I really wanted to try it. The normal tins of Vaseline are only around £1.79 I'm sure, but this one was £3.49! I actually don't agree with the price but I really wanted to try it so for a one off I suppose its ok. I wasn't sure how much I was going to like it because I'm not a huge lover of alcohol in food or desserts...I know its not the same but its still going on my lips. I am pleased to say that I do really like it. It does exactly what the other Vaselines do but it has a lovely scent to it and its a fun thing to have so I'm pleased with that :)

I got four other things, all from one place...Primark!

We went in for a look around because Primark is a more enjoyable store to shop in during the week. It can be...well manic for lack of a better word at the weekend. I ended up buying four pairs of ballet flats! I live in ballet flats, even in Autumn/Winter if its dry day so they are always a good buy. I find that flat shoes, even more expensive pairs wear much faster than other styles so if I am going to spend more money on shoes I would rather it be heels of boots.

The first two are these cute little quilted effect pairs. They are exactly the same apart from colour and I just really like them and think I will get a lot of wear from them. They were only £6 each and they are so soft and comfortable inside.

My other two pairs are these really lovely little moccasins. I thought they were just really sweet and they have this padded section at the from of the shoes so they are cushioned and feel so nice to walk in. These were only £8 each and again I think I will get a lot of wear from them. They are from the wide fit section of the shoes but I have compared them to the other pairs I bought and they seem to be exactly the same width.

Anyway that is all I bought yesterday...apart from my hot chocolate but I didn't get a picture of that lol.
I hoped you enjoyed my haul post, have you been shopping lately?

Happy Friday everyone, hope you all have a lovely weekend :)

Money Supermarket Blogger Competition

Hi Everyone!

I have seen a few posts recently about MoneySupermarkets Passion for Fashion bloggers competition and I wanted to have a go. Each blogger has to create five outfits, one for each Office, Party, Outdoor, Casual and First Date. Each outfit cannot be more than £200 and has to be suited to this Autumn/Winter.

Here are my finished outfits...

For the office look I knew that I wanted to use this jacket from Zara. Its gorgeous and will look great all through Autumn and Winter this year and for years to come. It is Light enough for Autumn when it can still be warm on some days and can be layered up with a heavier coat on top for Winter. I Paired it with black trousers and a white and black vest, I would tuck the vest into the trousers... its a nice change from a shirt for work. I finished the look with a classic style tote bag, studded shoes and some black and gold jewellery.

Zara Boucle and Faux Leather Jacket - £89.99
ASOS Peg Leg Trousers Black - £20
Zara Black and White vest £25.99
Newlook Formal Tote Bag - £19.99
Boohoo Studded Flats - £20
Newlook Necklace £5.99
Newlook Ring £6.99

Outfit Total - £188.95

When I think outdoor i think of running around the woods or fields with my dogs so it needs to be warm and comfortable. I love this big jumper from Topshop, it looks so cosy and warm and for really cold Winter day you could put a few more layers on underneth. I paired it with the thicker leggings that Topshop sell because they will be much warmer than the others and a comfy pair of biker style boots that will keep your feet warm and dry. I chose this Jacket from Newlook because they are very on trend just now and i think it finishes off the outfit nicely. Lastly a warm knitted scarf and gloves :)
Topshop Jumper - £36
Topshop Thick Leggings - £18
Newlook Faux Leather Sleeve Jacket - £44.99
BooHoo Bag - £20
Boohoo Black Boots - £30
Newlook Knitted Snood - £7.99
Newlook Multiway Gloves - £5.99
Boohoo Shy Owl Necklace - £8

Outfit Total - £170.97

Autumn can be a funny month with some days still being warm so I like to wear layers so i can add more the further into Winter we get. I love this outfit, its sweet and girly but still very comfortable and stylish for a day of shopping. I chose a cream lace peplum top to go with an oversized fluffy grey cardigan and burgundy jeans. With that i have a slouchy bag from newlook and really sweet tassel flats. To finish the outfit off I picked a collar necklace from Miss Selfridge and a little charm set also from Miss Selfridge.
River Island Lace Peplum Top - £25
River Island Grey Fluffy Cardigan - £30
Topshop Burgundy Jeans - £38
Newlook Tassel Pumps - £17.99
Newlook Bag - £24.99
Miss Selfridge Collar Necklace - £18.50
Miss Selfridge Charm Set - £4

Outfit Total - £158.48

First Date
I wanted the first date outfit to be dressy but casual because sometimes your not sure where your going. I paired a gorgeous sequin top from river island with blue skinny jeans and a mustard colour blazer to cover up on autumn nights. I finished the outfit with leopard print heels, a sequin clutch and spike and cross bracelets.
River Island Sequin Top - £45
Newlook Blue Skinny Jeans - £27.99
Topshop Mustard Blazer - £40
Newlook Leopard Print Heels - £24.99
Newlook Sequin and Bead Clutch - 19.99
Boohoo Spike and Stud Bracelet - £6
Miss Selfridge Cross Bracelet - £5

Outfit Total - £168.97

I think that Autumn Winter is when you can go OTT when it come to embellishment and I have done that with this outfit. I really like how this look its made up of the two piece top and skirt instead of just a dress. Because there is so much going on with the outfit its self i kept the shoes simple with a black heeled sandal from Zara. Again because the outfit is very busy a necklace would look lost against the top so i went for a large filigree ring and finished the look with a glitter clutch.
Miss Selfridge Embellished Top - £49
Miss Selfridge Embellished Skirt - £65
Zara Heeled Sandals - £39.99
Topshop Filigree Ring - £12.50
Miss Selfridge Black Glitter Clutch - £20

Outfit Total - £186.49

Hope you enjoyed reading this, it was fun to do :)

If I Were...

Hello Everyone
How has your Monday been?

Mine has been busy but good although the weather is not, I think it has been raining all day. I thought it would be nice to start the week off with this fun easy little post... not that writing a post is normally hard. A friend of mine emailed me a copy of this tag this morning, she doesn't have a blog so I can't tell you to go look at it and I don't think she mentioned where she found it but here we go :)

If I were a gemstone, I'd be a Diamond
If I were a scent, I'd be towels straight from the dryer
If I were a pair of shoes, I'd be ballet flats
If I were the weather, I'd be snow
If I were a facial expression, I'd be a smile
If I were a car, I'd be a mini cooper
If I were a time of day, I'd be 6pm
If I were a month, I'd be November
If I were a place, I'd be Manhattan
If I were a liquid, I'd be Tea
If I were sea animal, I'd be a Seahorse
If I were a taste, I'd be Nutella
If I were a food, I'd be Cupcakes
If I were a colour, I'd be Yellow
If I were a musical instrument, I'd be a Piano
If I were a flower, I'd be a Peony
If I were a planet, I'd be Earth
If I were an object, I'd be a Camera
If I were a fruit, I'd be a Raspberry
If I were a sound, I'd be the sound of popping bubble wrap
If I were a day of the week, I'd be a Friday

I enjoyed doing this and I Tag everyone to do it too :)

Hope you all have a lovely night

London Fashion Week!

Hi everyone!
I wanted to do this post on Wednesday but I have unfortunately been away from Internet access for most of this week. It has been AWFUL...not to sound too dramatic but really it has sucked. You don't realise how much you use it until you don't have it all the time but I'm doing it now so I suppose its all ok :)

I wanted to share some of my favourite collections from London Fashion Week. Sadly I was not there but I watched it religiously on TV and online on the rare occasion I was privileged to Internet lol. There were so many amazing collections on the catwalks for Spring/Summer 2013 it was hard to choose a few for this post but I have narrowed it down to 3 I love.

First up is Holly Fulton...

Her SS 2013 collection was full of bubblegum brights and gorgeous pastels, it pushes boundaries with the mix of different fabrics including clear plastic and soft leather. It feels as though she took a little inspiration from the past with 1950's kitsch with cute check patterns, naked lady's and quirky floral prints. The overall feel just screams summer and has me looking for to next year even though we have just stepped into Autumn.

Next up is Burberry Prorsum...

The theme of the show was corsets and capes, when the first look walked the runway all I could think of was on old movie. 1940's glamour! As the show progressed it got more dramatic and it really showed just how versatile Burberrys iconic trench really is. It started of a beautiful white through to brights and metallic and then to lace. The lace where my favourite I have to say.

Last is Temperley London...

Temperley has outdone their self this year, SS 2013's collection is simply stunning. It was playful but still managed to be grown up, glamorous and sophisticated. From full skirts with amazing floral designs to full length gowns with sheer panels. Unlike Burberry Temperley used only a few colours, white, black, grey, blues and red. Unlike other shows Temperley used a lot of soft pale blue. The whole collection is grown up feminine fashion at its best! I have to say I think it was my favourite show from the past week.

Thank you for reading,
Have a great weekend :)

BooHoo £50 Blogger Challenge

I found out about this challenge after reading the lovely Megans blog "A Brunettes Beauty Blog" and it sounded fun so I wanted to give it a try.

BooHoo has made it onto Fashionvouchers top 10 Fashion Money Saving Websites list and to celebrate they have launched this competition. All you have to do it put an outfit together but it cannot be more than £50! I have to say I thought it was going to be easier than it was! There is so much to choose from it is very hard to decide on just one outfit especially when you have to stick to a certain budget.

So this is what I chose...
So altogether my outfit came to £48. The shirt was £20, the jeggings were £10 (bargain!) and the shoes were £18.
I really like it...I tried to choose something that would work well from day into night. The shoes are very sweet and I love the fun they bring to the whole thing without taking away from the sophisticated look. This outfit would look great with a leather jacket or a trench coat :)

I hope you enjoyed reading this and that you will go and take part, to join in the challenge just click here

Weekend Baking :)

I like to bake! Its a fun way to spend an afternoon...or in this case a morning. We had no plans for Saturday this weekend and I hadn't done any baking in quite a while so I thought YES! That is what I'm going to do! I actually thought this the night before and after leaving my mums on Friday night we went for a little drive to Asda to get supplies. Asda is a very different place at 12.30am lol.

I was planning to just make cupcakes but ended up making scones and cookies too. I wasn't sure how the cupcakes were going to turn out. I got the idea from a cookery show to put crushed fruit through the sponge mix and I had frozen raspberries so I used them. I was worried the mixture would split but it all turned out fine, and they taste really yummy :)

This is the mixture, its such a fun colour
This is how they looked after baking, I think they look lovely :)
I finished them with white chocolate butter cream, I thought white chocolate and raspberries would work really well together. I left the seeds in but if you would prefer to have them without you could past the crushed berries through a sieve.

Here are my finished little cakes, I put white chocolate chunks on top

                                                          Inside the sponge....yum!

I don't have pictures of the scones or cookies to show you, I forgot to take them lol. Other than baking this weekend has been quite a lazy one...

Have you done anything interesting this weekend? Let me know, I would love to hear about it :)

Autumn/Winter Nails!

It is really starting to feel like we are into Autumn now! Its cold and the shops are full of all the amazing Autumn colours and well...I am loving it!

So I thought I would share my favourite nail colours for this season. Obviously you can wear any colour you like when ever you like...its really up to you but I kind of like matching them sometimes :)

While throughout Spring and Summer I love to have light pastel colours or really happy brights, I like to start mixing in some deeper moody colours about this time of year.

First of all...RED! Red is a great colour for this season and will look just as good all the way through winter too. It is a classic nail colour just as it is for the lips! It comes in so many different shades so I'm sure you will be able to find one you like. If you have never been a big fan of red nail polish or you have just never been sure about trying it but want to, go for a dark red for 2012... its not as "in your face" as the postbox red colours but is stunning and works with so many looks. I like Victoria from Nails Inc...the red is so dark. It is described as a deep cherry colour.

From reds to berries. I really love the berry shades...I tend to go for them over reds most of the time. You can find some gorgeous deep shades in shops just now. One I am enjoying that I got about two weeks ago is Barry M Raspberry (in picture below). Just like the name says it is a deep crushed raspberry colour and looks great on. Another berry I would like to try is an Essie polish called Skirting the Issue, it is described as a burgundy colour.

Purple just say Autumn to me! I really have no idea why but it always has so I picked a new one up when I bought Raspberry. Its Rimmel Black Cherries (in picture below). It is a very dark purple. I really like it and I can see me still loving it through into Winter. The look of it in the bottle made me think it was going to be a little metallic but its not, it does have a nice shine to it though.

On to greens. Not bright neon greens from the summer but very dark or mossy greens. There are a lot to choose from at the moment so we are kind of spoilt for choice. One I am really looking forward to trying out is another Essie polish called Stylenomics (in picture below) Love the name lol! The colour is amazing! Such a rich dark green. I have never had a dark green polish so I am looking forward to that.

Grey is becoming a big nail trend this year. Its a nice change from black if you want something different...I still love black polish though. I will always be a favourite of mine. NARS have gorgeous grey in their new Fall 2012 collection that looks like a lovely creamy colour. I think the name is Storm Bird (see picture below) Ive also heard good things about Barry M's Grey nail paint, I'm not sure if the name is just Grey.

My last favourite Autumn look this year is nudes or neutrals. I know this has been around all year now but I still love the look. My all time favourite colour for this is Porchester Square from Nails Inc. It is the perfect colour for me and I think it it very flattering on all skin tones. Because of this colour i was tempted to buy a colour from Barry M (again) called Cappucino. When Porchester Square dries on my nails sometimes i think it can have a sort of lilac look to it so I got Cappucino because it looks like a darker version of that. It is quite a lot darker on the nails but I've decided I'm going to wear it as my Autumn neutral, even though it is maybe more of a greyish purple colour lol.

I hope you enjoyed this or that it was maybe helpful for you in some way.

I'm sorry that some of the pictures aren't great, the lighting isn't that good in the house so i did my best lol.

Good night everyone

Sunday, 9 September 2012

Hi everyone,

Its Sunday night! Another week has just flown by...where is this year going??

I've been thinking about that a lot today because it is the first day that has really started to feel like Autumn :)

I know depending on where you are right now it might not be the same for you but today in Scotland it has been a little cooler and cloudy and to be honest I have LOVED it. Driving home I was watching leafs fall off the trees and it was just so exciting.I love Autumn! It has to be one of the most beautiful times of year, so many colours everywhere. I thought I would share some of what I'm looking forward to now summer is over...

1 - The fashion! It is my favourite season to style. So many layers, so many warm woolly things. Thick knitted tights with cute little much to be excited about!

2 - HOT CHOCOLATE! Now I know you can have this any time you ant but I don't tend to drink it in spring and me its a cold weather drink. I live on it in December, it is a Christmas must have!

3 - Dark nights. For some reason when it starts to get dark earlier it becomes acceptable to come home from work, get into pyjamas and sit on the couch all night with the bed covers watching tv lol. You can't do that in feels wrong to do that when the sun is beaming through the windows.

4 - Outdoors. The air in Autumn is so crisp, I love it when you walk outside especially in the morning and it tingles your nose. You also cannot beat walking through crunchy is such a great sound.

5 - CHRISTMAS!!! It is without question my favourite time of year, I love everything about it! And yes I know that it is still only early September but lets face it Autumn is like the exciting run up to it so its hard not to start thinking about it :)

Those are just a few of the things I am excited about.

What are you looking forward to now it is Autumn? Let me know, I would love to hear about it :)

What's in my handbag...?

Hello everyone, how are you?

I love these posts! They are so much fun to read, it might be that I am just really nosey or it might be that I like to see that other people have as much junk in their bag as I do lol.

Well to start here is my bag...

I haven't had it that long, I got it just over a week ago from Topshop and I LOVE it. I like big bags for day to day use, I just find them more convenient because you can fit so much in them.

On that note...this is what I had inside...

  • My very old red note book and pen, I like to makes lists! (Christmas is coming you know?)
  • Hair bobbles and hair grips
  • Price tag from a jumper I had on one day and forgot to remove before I left the house lol
  • Graze box voucher that I got in Superdrug
  • Free iTunes download that I picked up in Starbucks a couple of days ago (and still have not downloaded)
  • Pink make-up bag
  • Pink umbrella that I accidentally stole from my friend lol
  • Socks?!? I have no idea why they are in my bag...I had ballet flats on today
  • Very old very used looking purse
  • Anti bacterial hand gel
  • Carmex because its is awesome
  • Mirror
  • Hair brush because Scotland is windy
  • Tissues
  • Water
  • Earphones
If I was out I would have keys in there too but I leave them on the stairs when I get home so I know where they are lol.

Sorry the pictures aren't great quality, not sure if it was the lighting or the camera but these were the best I could do tonight. This was fun to do so I hope you enjoy reading it. If you have done one please let me know so I can have a read.
Please feel free to comment or message me, have a good night everyone :)

Why hello there everyone :)

How are you all this evening?

This is a random little post but I got so excited that I really felt the need to talk about it. Earlier this evening my lovely fiance went to the shop to get milk and came back with this wonderful item hehe

If you all remember, earlier this year there was a competition with 4 KitKat chunkys and everyone had to vote to see which one would be made permanent? I think the 4 were Orange, Double Chocolate, Peanut Butter and White Chocolate. It was obvious from the beginning of the competition that the Peanut Butter was going to win and that made me very sad because I loved the White one. The Peanut Butter is ok but I don't eat them in what I guess is the normal way...I like to bite off either end and suck tea through them (you can't do that with the peanut butter) lol. Does that make me odd? ... don't care lol. Anyway as you all know Peanut Butter won and the rest were stopped we have this!

This is the first time I have seen these, can anyone tell me if they have been around for a while? And if they are staying around?

Anyway I just felt like sharing with people, its nice when such a small thing can bring a smile to your face.

Hope you've all had a good Monday :)
