Twelve Days of Christmas - Epic Hot Chocolate

On the fifth day of Christmas...

When you think about Christmas drinks a few come to mind. Eggnog, mulled wine, festive coffees and of course, hot chocolate! I don't really drink hot chocolate throughout the year, I will have the odd one but it is something I mostly tend to save for Winter. It is warm and comforting and just seems right around Christmas time. Last year we came across an amazing hot chocolate recipe that we have made again this year so I wanted to share it with you :)

The recipe comes from Jamie Oliver and you can find it right here! We like to make up a batch and keep it in one of these storage jars, I can't say how long it can be kept because to be honest it doesn't last long in this house! When making it for a small cup/mug I would add two table spoons per person and if using a larger mug I would add an extra one each. It makes a yummy thick drink that isn't too sweet because of the dark chocolate, if you want it sweeter you can just add more sugar but I would find it very sickly if it was overly sweet. We have found out recently that it works well with syrups too! We bought the toffee nut syrup from Starbucks after I discovered that is the one they use in their salted caramel hot chocolate and it is amazingly good. We have been having it with whipped cream and caramel sauce and it have become a firm Christmas favourite in the house this year. What Christmas drinks have you been enjoying so far? If you enjoy hot chocolate I think you will like this recipe :)

Thanks for reading, I hope everyone had a lovely Monday.

8 sleeps until Christmas!
