Maybelline Lips

As I mentioned in my last post, I have a new lip combination that I have really been loving. I have always been someone who is drawn more to lip balm or lip gloss type products when it comes to what I want to wear on my lips. The reason for this is simple...I just much prefer the "less effort" approach! Don't get me wrong, I love bright lips. I think when done properly they look stunning but for me, on and every day basis it's just too much when it comes to touching up, lip gloss is so much more forgiving...

For a while now I have been on the look out for Maybelline's " 620 Pink Brown" lipstick, it's a -your lips but better colour, and I have heard so many people rave about it. I finally found it a few weeks ago and while wondering around Boots and spurred on by the 3 for 2 offer, I had a crazy thought, I bought a lip liner to go with it! The thinking behind this mad impulsive act was due to the fact that my mums 50th birthday party was coming up and if I was going to wear lip liner, that would be as good a time as any. The liner is also by Maybelline and is "132 Sweet Pink", I picked it up as it looked like the most similar shade and they go very well together. Since the party I have found that both of these two products are very simple to wear together or alone...even for me and my somewhat lazy attitude to lips. Because they are both shades that are close to my natural lip colour I don't have to try too hard to get things perfect when I am applying them.

At night I like to apply the liner and then the lipstick a little heavier than I would during the day, again because of the shades this is a very wearable -not too much attention needed lip look. For day to day I like to apply the liner and then the lipstick but lighter, just pressing it on so the colour isn't as dark. I also enjoy wearing both products with a lip balm or gloss. They layer up very well and when worn with lip balm keeps your lips lovely and moisturised. It seems obvious to explain how to wear these products, but as someone who needs less fuss options when it comes to my lips I thought I would share this with you :)
