Some Favourites from April

It seems appropriate to begin with the food in this picture - as I am currently eating one right now! I love flapjacks, but this past month I have been eating them more than normal. They are really good if you are out and about and don't have time to stop and eat as they really fill you up and a great for a burst of energy, but they are quite high in fat so I have been trying to not eat too many. We got our hands on quite a few of them for a really good price - got to love a bargain, so they have been sitting in the house and they are too tempting not to eat. I think some time soon I will try to find a recipe for a more healthy alternative.

For beauty I have a lip combination that I am so pleased with, especially as I have been looking for the lipstick for at least a year now, I may have even let out a little squeal of excitement when I seen it sitting in the store...I had a few looks! The colour is Maybelline's 620 "Pink Brown", and I have been pairing it with a Maybelline lip liner in 132 "Sweet Pink". To be honest I have never been one for wearing lip liners, I don't normally go for big effort lips, I am more of a lip balm or sheer colour gloss kind of girl. Something that doesn't take me a mirror and 5 minutes to reapply. But this is really simple and when applied a little lighter it is very low maintenance. A more detailed blog post will be coming soon on these.

My other beauty loves are a perfume from Jo Malone that I think may be an all time favourite, not just for April. It is from the Sugar and Spice collection that was, sadly, limited edition and is now sold out everywhere. I love it so much I had to buy a second bottle so I could have it for a little longer. If anyone from Jo Malone reads this - please bring this back! The scent is "Redcurrent and Cream" and it really does smell like the name, it is very hard trying to explain that it has a creamy smell without making it sound as if it will eventually turn out like off milk but I promise it does. Lastly is "Melvita - Orange Blossom Extraordinary Water". This purchase was down to Rachel from Blush and Brunch, after reading her post about it I knew I wanted to try it out and eventually I did. The best way I can describe what this does for my skin, is to say that I felt as if I was lacking a little something in my skin care routine and this is what it was! It seems to keep my skin a little more hydrated and with the weather getting warmer that is a good thing. It also smells wonderful, it reminds me of something I used on holiday when I was a child...I just can't think what it is.

My last two favourites are accessories. I found this scarf not that long ago and just fell in love with it, it is so bright and cheerful that I love wearing it with any outfit for an instant boost of colour. At the beginning of last month I picked up these sunglasses. I wouldn't be without sunglasses at any time of year, I hate screwing up my face when it's bright outside. This pair comes from Primark and they were only £2.50! I don't think you can really complain at that price, even if you do sit on them - as I have done in the past on more than one occasion. I love the shape of these glasses and the little gold skull detailing on the sides, they also feel and look very well made...I think making them look a little more expensive than they actually where.
