Some Favourites from October

October has to be one of my favourite months of the year, the air becomes cool and crisp and everything turns truly autumnal, so I really am quite sad to see it go for another year. But as it is the end of another month here are some things I have loved over the past few weeks.

First, yes that is cough medicine! This is kind of a favourite and a total-non-favourite, I hated the taste of this stuff when I first took it but I have to admit, it has grown on me over this last week. I caught a really bad cough from my best friends little girl -why is it when you catch the cold or a cough from a child, it is always so much worse than what they have? I bought this to help and it has a little, so it has been my favourite thing this week, even though it now seems that I am also getting the cold so I will more than likely have to move onto something else, probably Day and Night Nurse.

As I have been not so well I have also made sure I have been wrapped up all warm and cosy, under orders from Paul! I dug my mittens out a few weeks ago because they are honestly the warmest things to wear on your hand, they leave you completely helpless to do anything other than hold a hot drink but they are warm and that is what matters. Along with my burgundy Zara beanie they have been my favourite accessories this month.

I have four beauty related products to talk about, none of which are new and I am sure I have mentioned them before but I have been enjoying them a lot lately. First is my Real Technique Buffing Brush, because I have been a little ill I have been staying away from too much on my eyes in case they get a little watery and I end up looking like a panda. So for the past little while my make-up has consisted of foundation, mascara and blush. Because it has been very basic and simple I have enjoyed using this brush everyday to buff in my foundation to give a lovely even natural finish. Some days, when I have wanted a little more colour I have been using my Revlon Kissable Balm Stain in Honey, but instead of just sweeping it on I have been adding a little and blending it in with my finger. This takes away a lot of the shine and gives a less made up look, which I like and think it suits a no-make-up-make-up look. Before we even got into October I kept seeing Barry M's Raspberry nail polish everywhere! I have had it for well over a year now but forgot about it over summer with it being quite a deep berry shade. It is all I have had on my nails in October and it just looks perfect with everything at this time of year. To keep with the berry theme, this month I have swapped out my perfume in favour of Cranberry Joy Body, Room and Linen spray from The Bodyshop. This I am sure is actually from their Christmas range but it seems to pop up again each time they have a sale. It is a lovely sweet berry scent, but not sugary sweet, just very fruity. It doesn't last quite as long as a perfume does, but it is a fraction of the price and can be used everywhere. I have also enjoyed spraying it on anything I have sitting on a radiator, when it heats up it fills the room with the fragrance.

Well goodbye October, and happy Halloween everyone! If you are off out I hope you have a fun and safe night.
