New York: Part 2

new-york-trip

One of the things that fascinated me most about New York was Central Park. Not just the size of it -I mean, it's huge, but how at times you can actually forget you're in one of the busiest noisiest cities in the world. There are parts that are so calm, quiet -even tranquil, that you can get lost in your own little world. That is until you look up and catch a glimpse of the skyline towering above you.

We explored Central Park over two days while we were there. One full day, when we walked and explored until the sun had started to disappear, leaving everything with a warm glow -only venturing out for coffee and lunch. The second time was on our last full day in the city. We walked a little and decided we couldn't leave without going out on the boats, where we very quickly learned that I am possibly the worlds worst at rowing! Seriously -I don't think I moved the boat. Thankfully Paul knew what he was doing.

Also...did you know there are turtles in Central Park? Adorable little things, and I have many a picture (possibly too many?) of them laying out in the sunshine -clearly they were enjoying the weather as much as we were.
