31 Things in October...

Today is the start of a new month, and a new series here on this blog! I don't think it's going to be a regular monthly series, instead, I'd like it to be quite random, and go up on months that are a little more interesting and or exciting...and this is a very exciting one! I can't believe this month we get married! So it seemed like the perfect place to start. They will be "31 Things" (or 30, depending on month), 31 randoms things about the month. Things we're doing, things we're looking forward to, plans we have...anything really. I thought it would be a nice way to look ahead, and enjoy the seasons.

So, I hope you enjoy it! Feel free to add any "things" in the comments that you might be doing or looking forward to

I'm also considering this as a new start, so it's all new here today! A new start to this blog, a blog that I love, but have let become a little unloved and unused for the last few months. Life has most definitely taken over in other ways, but this is my new beginning, for Instagram too, because I've all but stopped using that. And they are things I enjoy doing, and miss when I'm not, and you should spend time doing things that make you happy.

I would have liked to have a whole you look and design for the page, but I'm not great with all that technical stuff, and haven't had the time to figure it all out. So, I hope you like and enjoy what's to come, and hope you're as excited for October as I am!!

31 things...

1. Carve and decorate some pumpkins. It's an added thing, that's probably not the best use of our time this month,'s October. It's a kind of unwritten rule, really.

2. Do a little more transitional clothes shopping. I've picked up a few bits lately that I LOVE. But a few more before we leave would be good, especially as I'm lead to believe, that New York is quite warm this month.

3. Get a haircut before our trip. Look at me, getting regular's a world away from my 8 or 9 years without even a trim!

4. Catch up with C & W before they leave for Florida.

5. Bake some more apple crumble. The apples are calling to be turned into something tasty.

6. Have new wedding nails done. I have extensions on at the moment, which is very odd for me! I don't usually do things like this (hair, nails, facials), but thought I should get used to them first, before having a set done for the wedding. So I have, and I quite like them! Although, mine may have grown by the time I have them done again, so maybe just get on top...we shall see! I am enjoying how much nicer my hands look too.

7. Enjoy the leaves turning. It's one of my absolute favourite things to watch as the weeks go by.

8. Try not to buy anymore Halloween decorations. Let's be honest...I will fail.

9. See my wedding dress completely finished, sleeves and all. I can't wait to try it on when it's all done. It scares me how close we'll be to the wedding when that days comes, but I still can't wait.

10. Picking up Paul's kilt. Did I mention he's having one made? It looks amazing so far.

11. Buy some Halloween sweets. Just a few though.

12. Make some time to have a picnic. I really enjoy picnic in the colder weather, you can have flasks of hot drinks, and cosy up with blankets. It does need to be dry and sunny though, it's not so much fun if the ground is cold and wet!

13. Buy lots of "thank you" cards.

14. Watch "Hocus Pocus" and "You've Got Mail". Both great for this month.

15. We really must perfect our homemade pumpkin spice recipe. We've been testing a few for coffee syrups, but so far, they don't taste as good as we'd like.

16. Pack our suitcases. Everyone I know thinks I'm weird for this, but I genuinely love to pack. Mine or anyone else case.

17. Remember to pick up some more tinned pumpkin...I'm out! I was shocked when I discovered this, I thought I had a couple more.

18. Make a trip to Lush. Paul is just as big a fan, as I am. And we've been Lush-less for a few months now. We must stock up for the colder weather.

19. Find and jump in a pile of leaves. No, I'm not five, but I just love the noise it makes! It always leaves a smile on my face too. And if something does that, surely it's worth doing.

20. We have a dinner planned with family before we leave fro NYC. I'm really looking forward to it. At the same time, trying not to let my anxious mind cancel, on the basis that we have to much to do, or that it's a waste of time or money. It's not. It'll be fun.

21. Have a little spring clean of the house. More of an autumn clean really, but that doesn't sound quite right.

22. Get on a plane to New York!

23. Pick the last of the fruit and vegetables from the garden. It's getting to that point when I think a

24. I really want to make some kind of pie and mash, I've been craving something just like it, since the weather started to cool down. Or stew and dumplings! That's just as good.

25. Get married!!! This one is actually on this day. On the 25th of this month, I will go from Miss, to Mrs.

26. Find the perfect sized little black bag. Not too big, not too small and unable to hold even my phone.

27. We should really get around to ordering party invites, for our little reception type thing in November.

28. Buy curtains and a curtain pole for the bedroom, the room doesn't look quite finished without it.

29. Order a chocolate skull for our wedding cake. We really like skulls! That's an odd things to say, isn't it? But it's true, we do.

30. My exercise routine has taken a little bit of a backseat, I really want to pick that up again. It's hard to not let the cold weather affect things.

31. We'll be spending Halloween in New York this year...I can't wait! I'm excited to experience Halloween in another place, and find some way to celebrate and enjoy while we're there. Any recommendations on this would be much appreciated!
